Josh and I packed our bags and headed to PCB last Thursday. My wonderful great aunt and uncle let us have their beach house for the weekend and we had an absolute blast with some of our good friends from Auburn. Our friends, Misty and Mark, didn't get to the beach until Friday afternoon, so Josh and I had a nice night by ourself on Thursday. We decided to be kids for a day and go to Gulf World on Friday. It was so much fun and just a nice time to spend some quality time together. Mark and Misty arrived Friday afternoon just in time for a couple of hours on the beach! Considering the double red flags, we took the risk and enjoyed riding the waves and throwing frisbee. After enjoying a very good meal at Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville, we shopped at Pier Park!! Due to the rain on Saturday, we didn't think we were going to be able to go to the beach, but it cleared up right after breakfast and we were able to net fish, feed the seagulls, and even argue over whether we saw a shark or a dolphin. Which we think ended up being both, VERY CLOSE TO WHERE WE WERE!! We didn't think we were getting any sun, because it was very cloudy, but of course you know what they say, "You get the most sun, when it is cloudy." We believe this to be very true. Saturday night was great as well, we enjoyed some Jamaican music at Reggae J's Island Grill. We ate our appetizers on the very top of the restaraunt. It was amazing!! So overall we had a great weekend. Josh and I almost decided to stay another night and just call in, but we thought we better not!! AND LET ME NOT FORGET THE ABSOLUTELY AMAZING THOMAS DOUGHNUTS!! Chocolate glazed, I think I ate 10 of them this past weekend. :) But they were FANTASTIC!!!
Sorry for all the pics, but my slideshow wouldn't work!!
I still have plenty more, but don't want to bore you! ENJOY!

Something Sweet....

is what I wanted friday. When Josh came home, I was brainstorming for something that I could make that would be really tasty. I had already called my grandmother for her pound cake recipe, figuring I had everything I needed at the house. Needless to say, Josh didn't want pound cake, if I was going to make something, he wanted to be able to eat it too, and pound cake is just not his favorite. SOOOOO, he ran to Winn Dixie, after picking us up a movie, and grabbed his favorite kind of cake, yellow cake with chocolate icing. He got home with the cake :) and decided that I was not mixing it right and that he wanted to do it!! So Mr. Cook mixes the batter, greases the pans, and gets the cakes cooking. Of course, I am the one that made sure they didn't burn. We let them cool, and when it got time to ice the cake, Josh jumped up and said "I want to ice the cake." So HE DID!!! I guess he is fixing to start taking over his grandmother's job of baking cakes when his family eats on Saturdays.
